Way Out West is an ongoing series of short stories, rambling thoughts, photo essays and conversations. It aims to begin to understand peoples’ relationships with the West Coast of Scotland, both those passing through and those making their lives there. Through conversations and time spent with people in ‘their places’, this project aims to understand how peoples relationship with the west coast is changing with the increase of the transient populations, what the attraction to the west is for those traveling to it and how this changing landscape impacts upon the existing cultures found there.
